Class/Workshop Policies:

Full payment is required when you register. We cannot guarantee a place will be held for you without payment. You can register in person, by phone or by mail.

We reserve the right to cancel a class if the minimum number of students have not enrolled. If we cancel the class, your class fee will be added to your account
as a credit or a refund will be issued.

To receive a refund or credit, you must cancel 1 week (7 days) prior to class. No refunds or credits will be given if you do not show up for a class or do not cancel 7 days prior to class.

Supplies are in addition to the class fee. We offer a 10% discount on all class supplies requested for our classes.

A supply list is provided for all classes. Be sure you receive one prior to class and bring everything listed. We endeavor to have all supplies in the shop but cannot guarantee they will be available on the day of the class, so be sure to shop early. All students must have a legal copy of the required pattern or book.

You must provide your own sewing machine in good working order, along with the cords, pedal and the users’ manual. All classes, including beginner classes, require you to know how to use your machine, including attaching various feet as required for the class.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class so you can be set up and be ready to start on time.

Please silence your cell phone in consideration of the other students and the teacher.

Unless specified otherwise, bring basic sewing supplies—thread, scissors, seam ripper, pins, marking pen/pencil, all the things you usually use when you sew.

Unless specified otherwise bring basic cutting supplies—rotary cutter, mat, ruler(s)
PLEASE NOTE: UNLESS INDICATED, YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN MACHINE TO CLASS.
You need to be familiar with your machine and know how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin and sew a straight line.
Beginner |
For those who - Are trying this type of project for the first time. - Have recently been or are currently being introduced to the basics of cutting, piecing and assembling a quilt top. - Are working to master these skills. |
Advanced Beginner |
For those who - Have pieced and assembled several quilt tops. - Are accurate in sewing a 1/4” seam and have rotary cutting skills - Are comfortable with the process and is now ready to move on to more challenging techniques and projects using at least two different techniques. |
Intermediate |
For those who - Have mastered the basics and are ready to move on to more challenging projects. - Are comfortable with most quilting techniques, including paper piecing and projects involving multiple techniques. - Have a good understanding of design, color and the whole process. - Are experienced in projects involving multiple techniques. - Are confident in making fabric selections other than those listed in the pattern. |
Advanced |
For those who - Have mastered the craft and are ready to move on to advanced techniques/designs. - Has the skills to read, comprehend and follow a pattern, and is willing to take on any technique. - Are comfortable with their skills and has the ability to select fabric suited to the project. |
Classes
Learn the basics, including choosing your fabrics, rotary cutting, machine piecing and quilting. Go home with mostly finished projects after each class. Class uses Pat Sloan's "I Can't Believe I'm Quilting" book that must be purchases separately.

Learn paper piecing with Lenny . This is an absolute beginner paper piecing class. You will learn how to paper piece by sewing a simple block from the book "Show Me How to Paper Piece", by Carol Doak, that you will need to purchase separately. . You will be required to bring your sewing machine and have experience using it. This is not a beginner sewing class - its a beginner paper piecing class!

The quilt-as-you-go-technique (QAYG) is an easy way to join quilted pieces by machine. Lenny will teach a QAYG method that allows you to quilt your project as you piece it. This is a TWO day class. Cutting prior to class is required.

Here is a fun quilt-as-you-go reversible throw quilt. Both front and back are pieced and quilted as you sew. Same pattern front and back. This sample uses the same fabrics on front and back. For a truly unique quilt, use different fabrics on the front and back!!

FREE - Sit and sew away from home! Bring your sewing machine and your sewing/cutting supplies/tools, your WIP (work in progress), hand projects, or start a new project! A staff member will be present to offer help with your projects. Note: This is not an instructional class. It is simply a sit and sew day - meeting new and old friends while working on your projects! Learn the basics of Tee Shirt Quilt construction from selecting and cutting your shirts to piecing the quilt. In 2 sessions you will learn how to prepare your tee shirts for use in a quilt and then how to put them together with sashing and borders. This class is for making the top; you might have to finish it at home.

Learn the basics of wool applique. We will complete a Needle Keeper during class and learn several basic stitches used for wool applique. At the end of the class you will have the skill necessary to complete your choice of wool projects. No machine required.

Join Mary to make three adorable trees that sit on a stand. In class you'll complete at least one tree and be able to make the others at home. All materials are included in the $54 kit fee and all tools will be provided to make the project, so there is no supply list.

Need an original gift for someone or for yourself? I have the answer: A wrapped rope bowl. Come join the fun as we use clothesline rope and fabric to make one of A kind bowls. We will also make a mat that makes a great hot pad. A sewing machine with zigzag capabilities and a few supplies and you can have a mat and bowl by the end of class. These bowls are almost like potato chips: you can?t make just one!
