What's new and Thanksgiving Sale

Good Morning. It's only one week until Thanksgiving and then of course Christmas seems like about a day after that.
Goodies have begun to arrive from Quilt Market including a good selection of fun gift items.   Puzzles, calendars, very fun tweezers, and scissors pals are among the gift ideas.
New fabric this week includes "General's Wives" from Windham (my personal favorite) and beautiful Hoffman batik bolts and bali pops. Our English paper piecing supplies have begun to arrive. Sue Daley's book is on order and will be released in late December. Edwina will demo the technique throughout the day on Friday Nov 25th. Stop in to be inspired by what she has already made. A new Quilt Label book has arrived and quickly reordered as it is already popular.

We have added several classes to the schedule on the website- www.serendipityquiltshop.com. There are openings in Madge's Christmas ornament classes and you would want to sign up soon for any of them if you are interested. Sherry will demo several great quick ideas for gifts and decor on Saturday Dec 3rd. And don't forget our Men's day on Saturday Dec 10th. Wish lists are welcome.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the November QOV day. Blocks for two quilt tops were completed that day and many of you have also been sewing bindings since then.  Your participation is greatly appreciated. The next QOV day is Saturday Jan 14th.

We are going to be collecting NEW/ PACKAGED Womens' and Childrens' underwear which will go to a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. Any donations of laundry detergent and toiletries will also be welcome. Although the needs are especially felt during the holidays, we will be accepting donations on a regular basis starting now.

Your donations to Clara's Calling have also been appreciated and we continue to accept them. Clean out your sewing room!

Our new block of the month- Barbara's Stars has been very popular and there are only a few spaces left. If you haven't seen it, Barbara's quilt is on the bed in the shop. In January we will be starting a new block of the month that has been designed by Pat Cassadei and Kathy Chamberlain.   It is a sampler quilt and you will use our "GO" cutter to cut your pieces every month. The blue and yellow sample is in the shop, but we are trying something different and you will be choosing ( with guidance if desired) your fabrics so the quilt will be especially for you. It can also be made with your stash! It's your chance to learn a new cutting method and use your favorite fabrics.

Ok, now the sale! I was thinking I would have a sale for Thanksgiving weekend to make room for new things but yesterday we got it together so it starts now and goes through Sat Nov 26th.
