How to Sew With Your Sewing Machine

Learn to use your own sewing machine, including winding your bobbin, use of various stitches, reading and jusing a pattern. Each student will complete a sewing project by the end of class. Bring your own sewing machine and call 302-259-6330 for materials list. Class held at Serendipity Quilt Shop in Dagsboro. ENA 281 271 Fee $59 5 Sessions, 9/8-10/6, Monday 2-4 p.m.

Horizontal Ribbed Cowl

Learn to knit in the round and whip up this ribbed cowl. Very simple beginner project. Works well in many different yarns. Pattern is a free download from Ravelry.

Learning Quilting Series

Advanced Beginning Quilting Series

If you have taken our Beginner Quilting Series with Edwina, then you are ready to take the next step with this Advanced Beginner Quilting Series. This class meets for 4 sessions. (Check your calenders carefully!)

Beginner's Quilting Series

Learn the basics, including choosing your fabrics, rotary cutting, machine piecing and quilting. Go home with mostly finished projects after each class. Class uses Pat Sloan's "I Can't Believe I'm Quilting" book.

SQS Classes

Hand Quilting

Hand Quilting is back! Join Madge in this introduction to the hand quilting stitch. Marking, basting, and quilting will be covered in this one day class. You will begin a block suitable for a 14" pillow top or wall hanging. For your convenience there is a $6 kit, payable to Madge on the day of class. You are welcome to bring a quilt top to discuss suggested designs.

Hand Applique

You will learn the hand appliqueing technique while making a Baltimore Block. The first class will cover fabric choices, threads, needles, and scissors. Edwina will be demonstrating using an overlay for your pattern placement vs. marking your background. You will need to have your 12" x 12" background piece cut before class. The Mimi Dietrich's "Baltimore Blocks for Beginners" book is required for the class.

Prairie Point Pumpkin

Learn to do prairie points and make this very cut pumpkin table topper or wall hanging with your scraps. Pattern included with class.

Seasonal Table Runner

Cut and piece this beautiful table runner from Judy Niemeyer's pattern. Lend itself to Batiks but other fabrics work well too. This IS a BEGINNER paper piecing project!! Would make an awesome holilday gift! This is a two day class. One for cutting and one for piecing with homework in between. Bring lunch if desired. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Six Hour Machine Quilting Workshop

This is the workshop you have been asking for. It's been expanded to a six hour class. Bring your machine and get hands on experience with machine quilting. You will learn pin-basting,even-feed and free-motion quilting and get lots of help and practice along the way. You are welcome to bring a top or two for suggestions. To save you time in cutting and marking, there is a kit for a fee of $10, payable to Madge Ziegler. Be sure to get your supply list when you register. You are welcome to bring lunch.

This tote is 16"X 9" X 6". Can be made from Charm Squares, Jelly roll or yardage. Diane has incorporated the Row By Row Fabric Plate in hers.
